Eric and Robin both graduated from Juneau Business High School in 1993. Back then, they didn’t travel in the same circles and didn't know each other well. Life took them down separate paths; they both married other people, built their lives, had children, and, years later, each found themselves single again.
In 2018, Eric sent Robin a Facebook friend request. For years they were nothing more than Facebook friends. Meanwhile, Robin moved around the country before eventually settling in Nashville, TN.
In 2023, Eric messaged Robin to say he’d be vacationing in Nashville and asked if she'd like to meet for coffee. She happened to be in Las Vegas that weekend, so they missed their chance, but a delayed flight gave them time to reconnect over the phone as he drove back home.
They spoke periodically over the next year, growing their friendship and bond, so in October, when Eric returned to Tennessee and invited Robin to lunch, she said yes right away. They had such a wonderful time they agreed to meet again before he left.
The night before his flight home, they went to dinner. Four hours of laughter, deep conversation, and heartfelt questions later, they both secretly walked away wondering if they had just found “the one.” From that moment, they spoke every single day.
By March 2025, it was clear. Since Eric is a Milwaukee Fire Lieutenant and serves in the Air Force, relocating wasn’t an option for him. So Robin packed up her animals and moved back to Wisconsin, back where it all began.
On August 17, 2025, Eric proposed in Door County, and Robin joyfully said yes. They are now planning their wedding more than 30 years after they first crossed paths in high school.
